I’ve noticed this too — sometimes the GitHub feed (e.g. stars, forks, follows) shows timestamps that are way off, like “3 years ago” for recent actions.

Here’s what might be happening and a few workarounds:

Likely Causes:

• Cached Data: GitHub sometimes delays feed updates based on server-side cache or sync lag, especially for older starred repos.
• Timezone Mismatch: If your system time or browser settings conflict with GitHub’s interpretation of your time zone, it may render stale timestamps.
• JS/Render Bug: If using extensions or custom CSS, DOM injection could be interfering with the timestamp rendering.

Temporary Workarounds:

1. Try a Different Browser or Incognito Mode — see if timestamps render correctly there.
2. Force refresh GitHub cache:
   • Log out → Clear cookies/cache → Log back in
3. If you're using GitHub Mobile, compare timestamps there — sometimes they're more up-to-date than desktop.

Suggested Fix:

Would be great if GitHub re-evaluated timestamp rendering on feed elements client-side, similar to how notifications/commits dynamically update via timeago.js-style behavior.
