I need more memory than 256KB

We need memory more than 256kb in our program(100MB is better). Does iotjs provide any convenience method to set memory heap limitation? Thanks.

@gridnow , memory is limited (up to 256KB) by JerryScript, it's byte code structure (http://samsung.github.io/jerryscript/internals/)

It's current design decision, IoT.js and JerryScript aims for small devices with several hundred kilo bytes of memory. If you want to use 100MB of memory, I recommend you to use node.js.
BTW, what is your test case?

It is possible to control the available memory, but it cannot be set to 100MB at the moment because JerryScript uses 16 bit compressed pointers. With 8 byte aligned pointers, the maximum addressable memory is 512KB. I think setting the alignment to 16 byte may waste too much memory, and we would still only have 1MB.

Hi @gridnow , what's your test case? Is it really need 100MB of memory allocation directly in JavaScript engine itself or can be solved by other way using special purpose module?

I was looking at using iot.js to run on openwrt based routers. It's not uncommon to only have 10-50 free MB of RAM in this scenario. V8's memory overhead makes it a tight fit. This is probably an area where iot.js would be a better fit if it supported larger heap sizes.
