54b6457 is causing assertion failures for us when building the Linux kernel with PGO. Since it doesn't seem like we'll be able to fix-forward quickly, as per https://llvm.org/docs/DeveloperPolicy.html#patch-reversion-policy I'd like to request that we revert 54b6457, cherry-pick the revert to release/12.x, then revisit re-enabling this once #49784 is resolved.

I'm not sure we can even revert that nowadays,
because you will also need to also revert every patch that uses freeze.

Tentatively closing this. Eli has 2 patches in #49784 that might allow us to fix this going forward.
