Validation message doesnot vanish even after the action is taken

Preconditions and environment

No response

Steps to reproduce

1. Activate any payment gateway option along with check/money order
2. Dont select any of the option and click on place order
3. You will get validation message "Please select on of the options"
4. Now select the one of the payment options and you will notice that even though the option is selected the validation message remains as it is

Expected result

Ideally if we select the payment option the validation message should vanish

Actual result

Currently the validation message remains as it is

We have verified the issue in Latest 2.4-develop magento instance and the issue is reproducible.Kindly refer the screenshots.

The validation message remains as it is even though we have selected option.
