Wrong doc about locale in the session

The translation chapter of the book still talks about setting the locale in the session: http://symfony.com/doc/current/book/translation.html#index-7
But this does nto work anymore since 2.1

I thought this is correct? If you set the locale in the session, it'll be used for subrequests? Or am I wrong?

@wouterj No, Symfony core does not check the session at all for the locale (it was the 2.0 behavior). If you want to make it use the session, you have to implement it yourself (which is described in a cookbook entry)
